First Charter Bank chooses ATM Office Suite for
network update
When First Charter Bank in Charlotte, N.C., needed to enhance its
ATM channel, it chose Diebold’s
ATM Office
Suite™ software modules. ATM Office Suite
allowed First Charter Bank to reduce costs and increase both the
efficiency and security of its ATM network. In addition, the
financial institution was able to comprehensively manage its journal
files, remotely access its machines and increase both internal and
external security within its network.
“Diebold’s ATM Office Suite has allowed us to take
greater control of our ATM network,” said Barry Jones, senior ATM
coordinator and banking officer for First Charter Bank. “We’ve
increased uptime, saved money by simplifying the management of our
ATM channel and reduced the time our tellers spend servicing ATMs,
which gives them more time to spend with customers. That’s how we
like to operate.”
Two Diebold
experts to speak at BAI TransPay show
Two of
Diebold’s experts have been selected to participate in the upcoming
BAI TransPay show.
The conference is scheduled for Feb. 12-14 at Rosen Shingle

ATM.” The session is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 12, from 9:15
a.m.-10:15 a.m. and will highlight different strategies behind the
decision to migrate to an automated deposit solution, critical
components of the deposit automation implementation process, lessons

projects.
In addition, Dean Stewart, director, software and services product
marketing and management, will lead a discussion titled “ATM
Advanced Functionality.” This discussion, scheduled for Tuesday,
Feb. 13 at 1 p.m., will provide examples of innovative banks’
implementation of new functionality on self-service channels.
TAG Webinar
highlights top ATM security issues
TAG
(The Advisory Group), in a joint effort with Diebold, recently held
the second in a series of
Webinars,
which offered new insights into ATM security. TAG is a
U.S.-based, independent user group that provides a network of
communication between members and Diebold for the purpose of sharing
information about industry trends. It also provides input on
customer requirements including the quality of products and
services. TAG members include financial
institutions and ATM deployers of all sizes.
The Webinar featured an overview of today’s top
security threats and other security issues facing ATMs, presented by
Jim Pettitt, Diebold’s director of solutions management.
During the Webinar, Pettitt discussed how hackers look for ways to
attack and steal assets, as well as ATM security and other issues
financial institutions need to be aware of to help protect their
assets.
“Consumer perception is everything, and it is an
issue that ATM industry leaders are addressing continuously on a
global basis,” Pettitt said. “The concern is that as new threats
are introduced, they will quickly propagate through the criminal
community. The key is to quickly identify common attack scenarios
and apply processes and solutions that deter replication of similar
attacks.”
