If you would like additional information about any of
the following tips, please contact the appropriate Diebold Corporate
Communications team member identified at the end of this sheet.
Diebold opens
Ukraine office
Diebold recently opened an office in Kiev, Ukraine,
to improve the dissemination of information within the market and
ensure distributor and service partner support. Representatives from
major Ukrainian banks and Diebold business partners attended an
event to celebrate the opening. Of interest to the audience were
demonstrations of Diebold’s OptevaŽ and a proprietary financial
self-service terminal network, which would assist in rapid
development of retail banking services. Ukraine is the leading
country in installed ATMs per capita among nations in the
Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
Off-premises
banking launched in
Peru
Diebold Peru partnered with Diebold Procomp to offer the TA 4000, an
off-premises terminal that serves geographic areas where banking
services are limited or non-existent. The terminal integrates a
processor unit, number and functions keyboard and magnetic card
reader. It also processes more frequent banking transactions through
a functional, user-friendly touch screen, and is installed at many
retail and merchant stores. Serving a bank-like role, store
associates accept customer deposits, which are placed in the store's
account and assist in customer withdrawals, which draw from the same
account.
New Diebold
solution will be “counted on” at upcoming event in headquarters
community
Diebold’s newest self-service solution, CoinCount™, will venture out
of the financial environment next month and into a hospital near its
headquarters in North Canton, Ohio. CoinCount, a solution for
consumer coin counting, will be used by Akron Children’s Hospital to
count thousands of dollars in change collected during an annual
fundraising event. The hospital, located in Akron, Ohio, provides
care to patients in Diebold’s headquarters community and will host
its seventh annual “Have a Heart, Do Your Part” Radiothon from Feb.
10 to 12. To date, the annual event has raised more than $2 million
to fund the purchase of medical equipment and supplies, research,
patient care programs and community outreach services. In 2005, the
hospital collected more than $155,000 as part of the event’s change
collection program. This year, Diebold’s CoinCount will help the
hospital tally those change donations.
Diebold
associate selected as speaker for TechSec conference
Jeremy Brecher, Diebold’s director of information technology and
support services, was chosen to speak at Security Systems News’
TechSec conference on Feb. 26 to 28 in Savannah, Ga. He will discuss
the future of open architecture, including its benefits to
end-users, integrators and manufacturers. Brecher was selected
because of Diebold’s leadership in the security industry and his
expertise in the integration and deployment of enterprise-wide
security systems.
Diebold brings development and service
organizations together
Diebold is making many positive changes
designed to improve the company and its future. Charles Ducey’s
recent promotion to vice president, global development and service,
will not only strengthen Diebold’s product development practice to
ensure efficiency and responsiveness, but will bring Diebold even
closer to the customer.
Ducey’s goal is to strengthen the customer’s view of Diebold
and to create integrated, seamless solutions through product development. Ducey believes that by fully leveraging Diebold’s ATM software,
product, service and monitoring organizations in the development
process, Diebold will be able to build greater value for its
customers.
