Diebold Security Expert to Speak at ISC West
One of Diebold’s security experts has been selected as a session speaker for the upcoming ISC West Show.  Promoted as the security industry’s largest and most-attended security event, ISC West is scheduled for April 4 to 7 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.  Mark Burnett, manager of Diebold’s Five Diamond Event Monitoring Center, will present “Remote Video Monitoring from the Central Station.”  His presentation, scheduled for Tuesday, April 4 from 1 to 2:30 p.m., will focus on remote video monitoring for alarm verification and its potential and impact on false alarm dispatches.

Based on lessons learned from monitoring more than 2,000 sites with remote video, Burnett’s session will highlight various methods that can be used to receive video at the central station.  He will also discuss the training and personnel issues that are vital in deciding whether to implement remote video monitoring.  For more information about ISC West, click here.  For more information about Diebold’s Mark Burnett, click here.

Diebold Italy Associate Brightens Playground at Cancer Hospital
Young cancer patients in Milan, Italy, have a cheerful place to play at the hospital, thanks to the creativity and talent of Enzo Bordoni, marketing and sales support manager for Diebold Italy.

When Clinica Di Marchi, a hospital that treats children who are affected by tumors, decided to turn a parking lot into a playground for its patients, Bordoni volunteered his time by helping paint a mural on the wall of the courtyard. Bordoni tied his volunteer activities to Diebold by painting a friendly alien named Opteva, after the company’s newest family of ATMs.

Bordoni later wrote a short story about the alien’s journey to Earth, which involved stopping at an OptevaŽ ATM. The Opteva ATM told the alien many stories about toys, sweets and how to make a donation to the hospital. As many as 20,000 copies of the story and others will be distributed to the hospital as well as several elementary schools in Northern Italy. To read the entire story, click here.
