Global security associates demonstrate products
at recent tradeshow
Diebold’s global security division associates recently demonstrated
the capabilities of its
Relocatable Arms Vault (RAV)
and
LINX Predator
Elite command and control system at the Force
Protection Equipment Demonstration VI (FPED VI) at the Strafford
Regional Airport in Strafford, Va. The RAV is a portable,
humidity-controlled structure used to store weapons. It can be
transported to new locations while remaining in one piece. The LINX
Predator Elite command and control system is a security solution
that features an integrated, multi-tasking, centralized system with
unlimited expansion and scalability options.
At the event, associates gave presentations to
potential customers inside the air-conditioned RAV, which contained
the LINX Predator Elite command and control system. In addition,
visitors viewed real-time surveillance from security cameras
installed on the RAV’s roof.
“The show allowed us to demonstrate our products to
leaders from the Department of Defense, as well as decision makers
from federal departments and state and local law enforcement
agencies,” said John Stroia, Diebold’s vice president,
government and monitoring solutions. “Both the RAV and the LINX
Predator Elite system were developed specifically for the government
market. They attracted a lot of attention at the show while
communicating Diebold’s commitment to creating customized solutions
for its customers’ unique needs.
Approximately 2,000 individuals attended and 600
exhibitors participated in the show.

Diebold celebrates sale of 100,000th
Opteva® ATM
After only four years since its introduction, Diebold
announced
the sale of its 100,000th Opteva® ATM to Missouri-based
Commerce Bank. Much of Opteva’s success can be attributed to the
extensive, global customer research that was conducted during its
development phase. In partnership with Dove Consulting, Diebold
interviewed ATM deployers in 18 countries in North America, South
America, Asia Pacific and Europe. Through this research, Diebold
discovered the most important requirements in the next generation of
ATMs for financial institutions included low cost of ownership, ease
of use for cardholders, reliability and transaction speed.
Extensive research focusing on design and usability
standards was also conducted among ATM users in 11 countries. These
findings showed individuals were most concerned about personal safety
and security, transaction intimacy, screen size and keyboard
position. Based on these findings, Diebold developed solutions that
are in line with the evolution of the ATM market.
Today, the Opteva ATM remains a leading machine in the industry for
many reasons. “Opteva offers cutting edge, self-service technology
with its state-of-the-art universal serial bus (USB) communications
platform and Agilis® software services that still remain unsurpassed
today,” said Diebold’s Anna Istnick, manager, industry
communications, financial self-service. “Opteva is the only ATM that
is designed to grow with customers’ business strategies due to the
flexibility and engineered innovation of its platform.”
Opteva also offers features such as modularity and
flexibility, which allow financial institutions to define
self-service strategies based on their business needs, protect their
technology investment and meet demands of evolving expectations and
requirements.
SDM lists Diebold as a top systems integrator
Diebold was recently listed fourth on Security Distributing and
Marketing (SDM) magazine’s annual Top Systems Integrators
report. This report ranks businesses or divisions within a company
that derive more than half their revenue from the sale,
design/engineering, installation and service of multi-technology
electronic security systems, such as access control and
identification, video surveillance, alarms, perimeter security and
other network-based technologies.
Last year, Diebold ranked fifth. Other companies on
this list include Siemens Building Technologies, SimplexGrinnel, ADT
Security Services and Stanley Security Systems.
