Diebold launches redesigned Opteva® Web site to celebrate ATM’s five-year anniversary
To celebrate the five-year anniversary of its Opteva® ATM, Diebold recently re-launched its Opteva Web site. Here, individuals can discover what makes Opteva a leading machine in the industry by learning about ATM services such as outsourcing, Agilis® software, deposit and teller automation options and various models offered through videos, brochures, white papers, photos and more.

“This site emphasizes Diebold’s commitment to providing world-class, self-service solutions for our customers,” said Diebold’s Jeanne Snyder, senior product marketing manager. “It demonstrates how financial institutions can achieve a greater return on their investment by showcasing how Opteva can meet their business needs and optimize their self-service channel. Opteva offers the best value for customers with proven reliability, unsurpassed security, powerful features and world-class service.”

Additionally, site visitors can also customize the look of ATMs, cash dispensers and more with the ATM color tool. This offering allows individuals to change the primary user interface, secondary user interface, housing/trim ring and background colors on the Opteva 562 and Opteva 720 models. They are also able to take a closer look at an Opteva terminal through a 360-degree tool that highlights callout descriptions on the ATM as well as a close-up snapshot of various features.

Diebold executive appointed to Security Industry Association’s
board of directors

John Stroia
, Diebold’s vice president, government security and monitoring solutions, was recently elected to the Security Industry Association’s (SIA) board of directors. SIA is a nonprofit, international trade association with more than 300 member companies representing electronic and physical security product manufacturing specifiers and service providers.

Stroia’s extensive leadership in the security industry aligns with the association’s initiatives, which include support to industry leaders in biometrics, access control and systems integration. During his 16-year tenure with Diebold, he has made several significant contributions to the company, ranging from product planning to business development.

“Considering Diebold’s pioneering role in the security industry and John’s commitment to the advancement of the industry, his selection to the SIA board was the logical choice,” said Dennis Moriarty, Diebold’s senior vice president, global security, noting that the appointment followed an extensive selection committee and search vote. “We expect John’s impact and the visionary outlook on the security industry will be put to effective use in his new post with fellow industry leaders.”

Advanced technology expert participates in
innovation roundtable
Jim Block
, Diebold’s director, global advanced technology, recently participated in an executive business roundtable on innovation that was held at The University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. The event was led by Vivek Wadhwa, fellow at the Labor and Worklife Program, Harvard Law School, and Pete Engardio, senior news editor, international, BusinessWeek.

During the discussion, experts from 21 local companies including First Energy, Timken and The Cleveland Clinic discussed and provided examples of significant innovations. Block discussed Diebold’s ever-improving approach to innovation which includes:

  • Allowing multi-functional design teams assigned to a project to work in a common design area. This creates an environment where ideas can flow across disciplines freely.

  • Tapping the global workforce’s diverse ideas and perspectives to contribute a wider variety of innovative ideas.

  • Exposing our markets to future-oriented ideas, such as Diebold’s Branch of the Future platform, which encourages discussion and gains feedback.

“For most people, the term ‘innovation’ is closely associated with technology,” explained Block. “However, all of the participating panelists agreed that innovation in technology alone is insufficient to sustain growth. It is imperative for companies to foster innovation in all aspects of their business. A company must cultivate innovation not only in the way it designs its products and services, but how it approaches its markets, defines its processes and structures its organizations.”
