Event Monitoring Centers Named
'Central Station Of The Year'
The
Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA),
a trade association representing companies offering UL-listed monitoring
services, recently voted Diebold’s event monitoring center (EMC) “Central
Station of the Year” for 2006-2007.
Presented annually, the
award of excellence recognizes a company that exemplifies “the highest
professional manner, thereby having made a significant contribution to the
betterment of the alarm industry and the alarm profession, while demonstrating
exceptional service to its customers and community.”
To be considered for the
award, the security division submitted an application detailing the background
of the EMC, listings and certifications, hiring criteria, training and
continuing education programs, quality of recordkeeping and performance data,
adoption of new technologies, quality of customer communication procedures and
much more. The extensive application required nearly 39 pages of information.
"Receiving the CSAA Excellence Award for
'Central Station of the Year' is truly an honor," said Steve Ipson,
director, monitoring services. "This award is yet another testament of our
world class monitoring operations and it is made possible by our entire team
of outstanding associates."
While the EMC has
recorded numerous improvements within the year that set it apart from
competitors, including building renovations and the addition of a high-tech
video wall, the most impressive improvement was the conversion of 500,000
customer records to electronic files. The conversion, a part of Diebold’s new
paperless system, ensures that customer data can be retrieved quickly and
efficiently, without the clutter of physical filing. Customer response plans are
some of the most important electronic documents, providing instructions
regarding how the monitoring center should respond to alarms and incidents at
customer sites.
When asked in the
application why Diebold deserved this award, Jennifer Kraft, director, global
