The
Security Vestibule is an advanced security screening system that uses metal
detection and interlocking door systems to aid in the detection of armed
individuals and deter their entrance into buildings.
The
Security Vestibule meets ADA guidelines and U.S. Fire Codes. (Please check local
fire codes for compliance)
Operation
When the vestibule
is empty, the outside door is unlocked and the inside door is locked.
To enter the
building, an individual enters the outer door, which then closes and locks. The
individual steps into the vestibule. If the presence of more than one
person is detected, a violation occurs and the interior door will remain locked.
The individual passes
through a metal detection system in the vestibule. If no metal is
detected, the inner door unlocks, allowing the individual to pass into the
building. If metal is
detected, a violation occurs. An alarm sounds and the interior door will remain
locked to prevent entry into the facility.
A
two-way communication system allows personnel to communicate with an individual
inside the vestibule. Authorized personnel within the facility are able to
silence the alarm and override door locks via an operator control panel and
secondary wireless remote device.
To
exit the building, an individual passes through the interior door into the
Security Vestibule. When the interior door has closed and locked, the exterior
door will unlock.
Personnel
can detain an individual within the vestibule by using the operator control
panel or secondary wireless remote device.
